Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Schedule

This position involves rotating shifts with both night and day schedules. The shifts are 3x12 hour shifts, specifically from 19:00 to 07:00 or 07:00 to 19:00.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) provides high-quality nursing care to patients with complex health issues. As a vital member of the healthcare team, the RN is responsible for monitoring patients' vital signs, administering medications, and managing various treatments.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients with diverse diagnoses including CVA, sepsis, and respiratory failure.
• Administer cardiac drips and manage patient telemetry.
• Perform and manage BiPAP/CPAP, continuous cardiac monitoring, and other specialized nursing practices.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination with interdisciplinary teams.
• Conduct patient assessments and implement care plans based on clinical guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of charge nurse experience preferred.
• Current PA RN License or Compact License required at the time of submission.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Experience with cardiac telemetry and charting systems, preferably Cerner.
