Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Psych Services department is an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas. The RN will develop and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care, evaluate patient outcomes, and identify available resources for patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care within the Emergency Psych Services department.
• Develop and update individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Identify and coordinate available resources for patients with psychiatric illnesses.
• Administer medications and oversee patient safety in the unit.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2-Year Associate's Degree required.
• Valid State of Maine RN license.
• BLS Certification required.
• CPI training must be current prior to start.
• At least 1 year previous experience in mental health nursing required.
