Physical Therapist - Per Diem

Per Diem - Day, approximately 20 hours per week from April 21 to May 8, and 40 hours per week from May 11 to June 5.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patients' needs and physician direction. Responsible for delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, the therapist ensures the design of functional treatment programs, allowing for effective return to community activities. They also serve as educators for patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves.

Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
• Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals focused on progressing patients towards discharge.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address barriers to discharge, including timely equipment trialing, completing patient and family training, and issuing home exercise programs.
• Manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions based on patient care needs effectively and efficiently.
• Maintain clear, concise, accurate, and timely medical record documentation as per hospital policies and compliance regulations.
• Participate in student programs and provide appropriate supervision and evaluations.
• Actively pursue professional development through continuing education and involvement in professional activities and organizations.
• Adhere to discipline-specific state practice acts and maintain professional licensure in good standing.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• Must hold a valid, current state license as a Physical Therapist.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist.
