Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit

Shifts available: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30), Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit will provide high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients with a multitude of diagnoses. The ideal candidate will have experience in telemetry and be adept in managing complex care situations while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient's vital signs and symptoms.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy and respiratory services.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using Cerner charting system.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols including isolation precautions and the use of PPE.
• Assist with procedures and interventions such as blood product administration and central line management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a similar setting.
• Valid Pennsylvania RN License or Compact License required at the time of submission.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience with computerized charting systems, preferably Cerner.
