Days - 12 Hour Shifts (12-hour Days - 36 hours guaranteed)

Job Description

The Psychiatric Nurse will be responsible for formulating and implementing patient care plans, providing medication education to patients and families, and ensuring that emotional and mental observations are documented accurately in patient charts. This role includes leading teaching and educational groups, training staff on charting and patient routines, and participating in performance improvement teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the formulation of patient care plans
• Attend weekly clinical staffing and review patient treatment plans
• Provide medication education to patients and families
• Document emotional and mental observations in patient charts
• Lead educational groups on the APU schedule
• Train LPNs and MHTs in charting, vital signs, and de-escalation techniques
• Participate in performance improvement teams or other unit task forces
• Accept educational or marketing assignments as directed by the Manager
• Maintain current Therapeutic Options certification
• Model positive behavior for patients and employees

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 2 years of Psychiatric experience - Required
• De-Escalation training - Preferred
• Current certifications: NIH, BLS (AHA)
• State Licenses: Oklahoma
• Recent traveler experience - Preferred
