Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift, 3x12.0

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will maintain the delivery of quality care by ensuring nursing care plans are effectively implemented. This role includes supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, emphasizing a commitment to patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely updates regarding patient statuses for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation of all assessments and interventions.
• Engage in patient rehabilitation programs and deliver direct patient care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and facilitate patient teaching prior to discharge.
• Communicate changes in patient status to other care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Guide and supervise ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective prioritization and organization of tasks.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by providing direction and reassurance to staff, departments, patients, and families.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
• Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
• ICU experience and appropriate skills for Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACH) required.

Schedule

This is a night shift position consisting of three 12-hour shifts.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
