CVICU Registered Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse for our CVICU unit. This is a high-acuity, friendly unit that provides surgical heart care, with approximately 850 heart surgeries performed annually. The successful candidate will join a team of highly trained professionals in a mixed CVICU/CVRU setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients post-heart surgery
• Administer medications and monitor patient progress
• Perform procedures such as pulling chest tubes and pacing wires
• Manage advanced devices including IABP, Impella, and LVADs
• Coordinate with an ECMO team for patient needs
• Ensure frequent patient ambulation and engagement

Schedule

This position operates on a schedule from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of CVICU or CVRU experience
• Critical Care training
• Strong passion for surgical heart care
• High energy and an upbeat personality is essential
• Certification in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room care is a plus
