Certified Surgical Technologist - 8 Hour Shifts

Schedule

8-hour shifts Monday to Friday; options of 0630-1500 or 0900-1730. Call opportunity available, but not required.

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist will assist in the delivery of patient care in the Operating Room under the supervision of the professional nurse, adhering to AORN Standards of Practice, Principles of Asepsis, and Operating Room Policies and Procedures. The successful candidate will ensure an optimal sterile environment and support surgical procedures effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the establishment and maintenance of a sterile field.
• Gown and glove per medical center policy.
• Support skin preparation and draping of patients.
• Prepare and maintain sterile and unsterile supplies.
• Identify medications and solutions accurately.
• Perform sharps, sponge, and instrument counts accurately.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during procedures.
• Support patient transfers and provide reassurance.
• Maintain knowledge of the progression of surgical procedures and required instrumentation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Education or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military training.
• Minimum of three years of operating room experience preferred, especially in Cesarean Sections, Orthopedic, General and Vascular surgery.
• Current Surgical Technologist certification and annual Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
