Job Description

The LTAC/Telemetry Registered Nurse holds accountability for providing care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available; provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process to provide patient care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient care delivery.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education.
• Delegate patient care responsibilities appropriately.
• Supervise and direct assigned personnel in delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two to five years of nursing experience required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications (must be through the American Heart Association).
• Vent/trach experience is required.
• Two years recent Tele/LTAC experience in a hospital setting.
• Indiana or multi-state compact RN license required.
