Part Time (2x12s) - day/night variable shift (scheduled as needed by client) including weekends and holidays.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skills in the area of cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring, and educates patients and families on self-care beyond hospitalization.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient/family needs through active listening and analysis of gathered data.
• Develop individualized, culturally relevant plans of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Provide nursing interventions and administer medications as required.
• Educate patients and families on care processes to ensure understanding and retention of information for post-discharge self-care.
• Promote teamwork and cooperation among healthcare team members for optimal patient outcomes.
• Comply with infection prevention strategies and maintain competencies based on patient population needs.
• Engage in self-evaluation and professional development to enhance nursing practice.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State Registered Nurse Licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Minimum of one year experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse.
