Progressive Care Nurse - Day Shift
Job Description
The Progressive Care Nurse will provide comprehensive care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients within a medical/surgical unit. This role entails offering physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support to patients, catering to diverse populations including pediatrics and patients requiring care pre and post procedures such as PCI, pacemaker placements, and various surgical interventions.
Responsibilities include monitoring patients in relative stability while being cognizant of potential deteriorations, operating advanced medical equipment, and caring for patients with various lines and ventilatory supports. The nurse will collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient care and will take a leadership role in mentoring and directing nursing staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care from admission to discharge, including discharge planning.
- Assess patient conditions and implement policies with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with professional disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Mentor and precept nursing staff, providing guidance and support.
- Monitor and operate advanced medical equipment for patient care.
- Manage medication administration, including common IV medications.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current State of Montana RN Licensure
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (or obtained within 6 months of hire)
- EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred
- Pediatric experience and post heart catheterization experience preferred
