Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

This position requires a Night Shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00. Weekend coverage is mandatory every other weekend.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care for patients in telemetry and medical-surgical settings. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients’ vital signs and cardiac rhythms, administering medications, and ensuring that all necessary interventions are implemented to support patient recovery.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry readings and vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Provide patient education and support to patients and their families.
• Perform essential nursing procedures, including blood product administration and IV management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry unit.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
• Ability to float to different units as needed.
