Registered Nurse - PCU/Tele

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3 - 12 hour Night shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. Opportunities for precepting and charge roles available.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the PCU/Tele unit provides comprehensive patient care for individuals experiencing medical and surgical conditions. The role involves monitoring patients, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient vitals and assess patients' conditions regularly.
• Administer medications, including drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Nitro.
• Document patient care using EPIC system, including reading and interpreting telemetry strips.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams, including hospitalist and intensivist, for patient management.
• Provide patient education on procedures and care post-discharge.
• Participate in the orientation and training of new staff as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license with BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience in a critical care or telemetry setting preferred.
• Ability to float to different units as needed based on staffing requirements.
• Must be able to commit to scheduled shifts, including holidays as needed.
