Surgical Tech First Assist

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm. Call is required from 3:30pm-7:00am with the possibility of weekend call from 7:00am-7:00am. Call schedule is up to 3 days per week.

Job Description

The Surgical Tech First Assist plays a critical role in supporting the surgical team by providing assistance during surgical procedures. This position requires a commitment to maintaining a sterile environment and following established protocols to ensure positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures.
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field; ensure all instruments and supplies are available and in working condition.
• Collaborate with surgical team members to optimize patient safety and surgical efficacy.
• Monitor the patient’s condition and communicate any changes to the surgical team.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with facility policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification (AHA).
• Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) via NBSTSA.
• Active surgical tech license.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
