Day Shift: 5x7.5-Hour (07:00 - 15:00)

Job Description

We are seeking a proficient Wound Care Nurse (WOCN or CWCN) with the ability to conduct pressure injury assessments, management, and treatment, focusing on pressure injury wounds within an ICU setting for patients undergoing open heart surgery and heart and lung transplants. The highest priority is to address opportunities for reducing and preventing pressure injuries.

Responsibilities

• Assess, manage, and treat pressure injuries in patients.
• Interface with primary nurses and educators regarding wound care.
• Validate staging, assessments, documentation, and treatments for pressure injuries.
• Maintain an Excel spreadsheet to document key metrics for each patient with a pressure injury.
• Participate in Wound Rounds and other relevant meetings.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to enhance wound care practices.
• Flexibility required for end-of-shift time based on documentation, admits, and discharges.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute care/critical care environment.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• WOCN or CWCN certification required.
• Active NJ or Compact nursing license at the time of submission.
• Experience with ostomy care and management is essential.
