Job Description

The Trauma & General Surgery Inpatient Unit is a high-impact, fast-paced environment that provides care for a diverse range of challenging patient-care issues. The unit consists of 30 beds, with a focus on step-down and floor patients. Nurses on this unit are expected to practice at the top of their scope and work collaboratively with various services to optimize patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for multi-trauma, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), fractures, and general surgery patients.
• Manage complex wound care, drains, devices, and respiratory support.
• Participate in a collaborative care model with care management, surgical, and rehabilitation services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have Epic experience.
• Level 1 trauma experience required.
• 1:6 ratio experience for floor patients and 1:3 for step-down patients.
• Current BLS certification is necessary.
