Schedule

Clinic shift would likely be from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; however, hours may vary based on patient load.

Job Description

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for the delivery of ionizing radiation to treat patients in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription and simulation instructions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and monitor the delivery of radiation treatments to patients.
• Prepare the treatment room and equipment, ensuring informed consent and patient instructions.
• Simulate treatment portals using conventional and/or CT simulation.
• Document setup instructions and perform calculations for treatment.
• Ensure quality assurance procedures for treatment units and simulators.
• Maintain a clean and functional work area, including stocking supplies.
• Assist in teaching Radiation Therapy to students during their clinical rotation.
• Assess and respond to patient needs and concerns throughout the treatment process.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• State of New Jersey Radiation Therapist license.
• ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy.
• CPR certification.
• 1 to 2 years of experience preferred, with proficiency in Varian/ARIA software.
