Schedule

AM shift: 07:00 – 19:30; 12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week. Scheduling pattern may include weekdays and/or weeknights based on coverage needs.

Job Description

Agency RNs will provide inpatient-level nursing care to admitted patients boarding in the Emergency Department while awaiting transfer to an inpatient bed. This role supports patient safety, throughput, and continuity of care during periods of high hospital census.

Responsibilities

The selected candidates will be responsible for:

• Caring for admitted boarder patients located within the Emergency Department.
• Maintaining a patient ratio of up to 2 patients (2:1).
• Providing care to patients with varying acuity consistent with individual skill sets.
• Collaborating effectively with ED physicians, hospitalists, ICU teams, and inpatient services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Recent critical care experience required.
• Competency with ventilators, drips, and high-acuity patients preferred.
• Active RN license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
