Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit

Schedule

The scheduled shift is 12 hours, working days with weekends as scheduled. Travelers must be flexible to work holidays as needed.

Job Description

The Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) is a 30-bed unit providing care for patients requiring a higher level of monitoring and intervention. Nurses are expected to take full patient assignments while managing critical care protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients with chest pain, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and those requiring post-operative monitoring.
• Manage and titrate IV drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and others as required.
• Collaborate with Charge Nurse and other team members to ensure quality care delivery.
• Review and interpret telemetry strips; nursing staff must be competent in reading strips.
• Ensure adherence to patient ratios and maintain high standards of care across the unit.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid nursing license.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Experience in an intermediate care or telemetry unit is preferred.
