Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients recovering from cardiac surgery. Candidates should be comfortable with various medical devices and have a solid background in post-operative care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to CVICU patients including fresh hearts, ventilated patients, and those with complex needs.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administering medications and treatments as necessary.
• Utilize advanced cardiac devices such as Impella and IABP.
• Assist with post-operative care, including managing lines and drains.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of current CVICU experience, or SICU experience with training in CVICU.
• Active NJ or Compact RN license required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience with specific cardiac procedures and equipment (CABG, MVR, AVR, TAVR) preferred.
