CVICU Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:30).

Job Description

The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from cardiovascular surgeries in a high-acuity environment. The nurse will work with patients who may have fresh hearts, are ventilated, and require close monitoring and management of complex cardiac conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-operative care for patients recovering from heart surgeries such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR.
• Monitor and manage patient status using advanced equipment, including Impella, IABP, and CRRT.
• Administer medications using IV drips, including titration and management of vasoactive drips.
• Conduct continuous assessments of patients, interpreting EKGs and managing dysrhythmias.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of current CVICU experience required; SICU experience may be considered with training.
• Active NJ or Compact RN License required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS needed.
• Experience with post-operative open heart recovery and relevant skills, including management of chest tubes, lines, and monitoring devices.
