Cardiac Invasive Technologist
Schedule
This position requires 3 twelve-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with varied availability as needed (2 Fridays per month) and 1 24-hour weekend call day every month. Additionally, there will be 3 weeknight call shifts (7:30 PM - 7 AM) per month, as well as one day on-call during the summer and winter holidays.
Job Description
The Cardiac Invasive Technologist assists physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The role involves scrubbing in on diagnostic, cardiac interventional, and peripheral procedures, while ensuring patient care during all procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and report clinical changes in patient condition to the RN or physician.
- Function in various roles: case recorder, cardiac circulator, and scrub assistant.
- Document all procedures accurately, ensuring labeling and identifying of studies and entering charges.
- Perform point of care testing in compliance with CLIA guidelines as necessary.
- Assist with cleaning work areas and replenishing supplies as required.
- Adhere to all standards of performance regarding sterile procedures and infection prevention.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Cardiac Invasive Technologist is preferred, with experience in diagnostic and cardiac and peripheral interventional procedures.
- Demonstrated expertise in cardiovascular technology and knowledge of catheters, wires, stents, and necessary supplies.
- RCIS certification preferred; BLS certification required and ACLS certification preferred.
- Must be able to take STEMI on call.
