Job Description

The General Neuro Unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care to patients in a telemetry and oximetry monitoring environment. The patient population ranges from young adults to geriatric patients, requiring both medical and surgical level of monitoring. The position involves critical care for patients with neurology or neurosurgical diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Monitor telemetry and oximetry for patients, interpreting dysrhythmias as needed.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy, including the use of PCA and heparin protocols.
• Perform care and management of feeding tubes, ports, and central lines.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy and Respiratory Services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a neuro or telemetry setting.
• Recent travel or contract experience preferred.
• Current certifications: NIHSS, BLS.
• Experience with Epic charting system required.
