Job Description

This position is for a registered nurse in a 33-bed Trauma and General Surgery inpatient unit, renowned for its complex patient care and recognized as a Comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Center. Nurses will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with a variety of challenging conditions, enabling them to practice at the top of their scope.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for multi-trauma, TBI, fractures, and general surgery patients.
• Manage complex wound care, drains, devices, and traumatic injuries.
• Administer and titrate medications, including insulin and Cardizem in the step-down unit.
• Collaborate effectively with care management, surgical, medical, and rehabilitation services.
• Participate in continuous patient monitoring and validation of cardiac rhythms.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and unexpired BLS certification.
• Experience with complex wound care and various medical/surgical conditions.
• Ability to manage chest tubes and respiratory support.
• Knowledge in reading cardiac strips is essential.
