Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care through intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. The role involves evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients upon discharge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory and oxygen equipment.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning of patients via different methods.
• Monitor patients through oximetry and capnography.
• Assist with invasive procedures related to respiratory care, including tracheostomy care and bronchoscopy.
• Document all treatments and patient responses in patient charts.
• Communicate with physicians regarding therapy effectiveness and patient status.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of respiratory therapy charges, ensuring data integrity.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Active respiratory therapy license and relevant certifications required; additional experience in a clinical setting preferred.
