Nights, three 12-hour shifts. Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

The position involves working within the Southeast Heart & Vascular Institute, providing care to cardiac and vascular surgery post-operative patients, including a variety of complex cases. The care is delivered in a supportive team atmosphere focused on excellence and quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to cardiac surgery post-operative patients including CABG, valve replacements, and heart transplants.
• Monitor and manage care for vascular surgery post-operative patients including AAA repairs and angiograms.
• Administer and titrate IV medications including heparin, amiodarone, and dobutamine.
• Utilize clinical judgment in interpreting cardiac rhythm strips.
• Deliver patient education and emotional support to patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience in cardiac and vascular nursing is required.
• Ability to titrate drips is mandatory.
• Valid driver's license required, with an address outside of 50 miles from the facility.
