Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU). The nurse will be responsible for the care of patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions including COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-operative care. The IMCU consists of 64 beds with 15 designated for neuro patients and requires floating among similar units.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to patients in the IMCU including monitoring, assessment, and intervention.
• Utilize specialty equipment such as temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and vents.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to create and implement patient-centered care plans.
• Assist with the care of chronic vent patients who are unable to wean.
• Document patient care accurately in EMR (Epic).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an IMCU or PCU setting.
• Active NY Registered Nurse license.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Travel experience with previous assignments is required.
• Drivers license with an address matching demographics is necessary.
