Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift - 13-Week Contract
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality patient care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. This position involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees, while promoting patient and employee safety within the healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Conducts nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized care plan.
- Identifies and addresses teaching needs related to the patients' diagnoses in collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
- Provides timely patient information and status updates for Initial and Weekly Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
- Documents all assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
- Participates in patient rehabilitation programs, utilizing the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
- Initiates discharge planning from the day of admission and begins patient education in anticipation of discharge.
- Ensures continuity of care by communicating changes in patient status to relevant care providers.
- Supervises ancillary nursing personnel and effectively delegates tasks.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Positively contributes to unit dynamics through calm direction and team-building activities.
- Assumes charge responsibilities as needed and identifies opportunities for professional growth and development.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS required prior to the first shift (specific to CIRH).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
- Previous experience in Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) is required.
Schedule
This position operates on a Night Shift, requiring 48 hours of work per week.
