Job Description

The MedSurg Unit consists of 52 private beds, predominantly managing post-operative orthopedic and neurological patients as well as general medical cases. The nursing staff operates with a 1:6-7 patient-to-nurse ratio, and teamwork is enhanced through the support of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Clinical Assistants (CAs).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a MedSurg environment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage patient medication and IV administration supported by the in-house IV team.
• Monitor patient conditions and assess changes to adapt care plans accordingly.
• Participate in daily rounds as part of a team-oriented approach.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.
• Experience in telemetry is preferred but not required.
• ACLS certification is a plus.
• A valid state nursing license is required.
