Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN will work with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and other personnel to provide patient care in the Operating Room according to the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN and regulatory standards, physician orders, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the surgical department.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the availability of supplies and timely management of cases
• Communicating with families and updating physician preference cards
• Scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical procedures
• Supervising personnel delivering patient care

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience in a surgical setting with strengths in Ortho, Neuro, Robotics, ENT, General Surgery, and Urology
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• Cerner experience required, CNOR preferred
