Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift - 13 Weeks

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. This position involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while promoting a safe and effective care environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish an individualized care plan.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation of assessments and interventions.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, implementing education for patients and families based on identified healthcare needs.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Maintain communication with all care providers regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise ancillary nursing personnel, providing guidance and training as necessary.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning and support a collaborative work environment.
• Engage in professional development activities through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position operates on a day shift schedule, consisting of three 12-hour shifts each week.
