Schedule

Shift: 4x10.0, 7 AM - 5 PM. Required to work weekends and holidays as needed. Located in Bronx, New York.

Job Description

The Operating Room Technician, under the supervision of the OR Manager or Surgery Center Manager, is a vital member of the OR Team. This role involves collaborating with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesiologists, certified nurse anesthetists, and ancillary support personnel. The primary function is to scrub for surgical cases and manage instruments, supplies, medications, specimens, and instrument cases. Upon full training, the OR Tech will also take responsibility for call duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures as a scrub technician.
• Handle instruments, supplies, and medications during surgeries.
• Prepare and maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Float to Labor & Delivery (L&D) as needed, though rarely.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Certification in BLS and CST is required.
• Experience in Vascular and Orthopedic surgeries is essential.
