Cat Scan Technologist - 

Job Description

The Cat Scan Technologist performs computer tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation, and assists with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex CT procedures and ensures patient clinical history is documented.
• Prepares and reviews contrast questionnaires, administering contrast media as prescribed.
• Verifies prescription appropriateness and communicates with radiologists and physicians as needed.
• Responsible for obtaining outside studies and ensuring they are available for comparison.
• Provides exam copies to patients and communicates effectively regarding procedures.
• Monitors patient conditions for adverse reactions during procedures.
• Adheres to established guidelines for venipuncture and IV maintenance.
• Participates in on-call assignments per department policies and works scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning is essential.
• ARRT (CT) certification must be achieved within 12 months of hire.
• American Heart Association BLS certification is required within three months of hire.
• NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License is mandatory.
• A graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program is required.

Schedule

This position follows an evening shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, scheduled for five 8-hour shifts, with every third weekend required. Holidays as needed.
