Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is executed effectively. Responsibilities include supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, while adhering to the principles of patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates during team conferences.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, utilizing the nursing process for comprehensive care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate significant changes in patient status to other care providers.
• Direct and supervise ancillary nursing personnel and ensure a safe work environment.
• Contribute positively to unit dynamics and team building activities.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
• Actively pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift.
• ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
