Schedule

The shift schedule is 12-hour nights, working weekend nights either Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday.

Job Description

The Trauma & General Surgery Inpatient Unit is a high-impact, fast-paced nursing environment where nurses handle complex patient care issues. This 33-bed unit includes both step-down and floor patients, allowing nurses to manage a variety of medical and surgical conditions, including complex wound care, traumatic injuries, and bariatric surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to trauma and general surgery patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage complex assessment and care for patients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and respiratory support needs.
• Utilize critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have experience with complex wound care, drains, devices, and chest tubes.
• BLS certification is required.
• Experience in a trauma or surgical unit is preferred.
