This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts with the option to pick up extra 8-hour shifts. Every other weekend and holiday requirements apply.

Job Description

The Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide patient care in a busy acute medical-surgical unit with telemetry monitoring. The role requires a strong ability to apply, interpret telemetry readings, and provide nursing interventions accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings for patients.
• Perform patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver safe and effective care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform unit-specific procedures including NG tube insertion and peripheral IV insertion.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in a telemetry setting.
• Experience in post-op care, including ortho, urology, and GI.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale; telemetry certification preferred.
• Experience with Epic EMR is mandatory.
