Neuro RN - Weekend Night Shift

Location

Available positions are primarily in a healthcare facility specializing in Neurosciences.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 12-hour night shift, 7 PM - 7:30 AM, options include Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday.

Job Description

This nursing position is in a unit focused on various neurological cases including strokes, seizures, and post-operative care for spinal surgeries. The Neuro RN will work with a patient ratio typically set at 1:5-6.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients in the Neuro unit, monitoring their conditions and responding to changes promptly.
• Use EPIC for charting and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures.
• Support patients with G-tubes and other neurological support needs based on prescribed care plans.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team in managing patients and implementing care protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers regarding treatment plans and care transitions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS and NIHSS certifications are required; ACLS is preferred.
• Strong background in Neuro nursing is essential.
• Recent experience with EPIC is necessary for documentation purposes.
• Able to work with a patient population including those with neurological disorders.
