7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, with guaranteed hours for 36 or 48 hours per week.

Job Description

The Adult Psychiatric RN will work within a multidisciplinary team to address the needs of individuals requiring complex nursing care in an adult psychiatric unit. Candidates must have the capability and confidence to provide care to clients with various psychiatric diagnoses, including co-occurring disorders.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess and implement patient care plans.
• Provide clinical supervision to Mental Health Workers (MHWs) to ensure the safe delivery of therapeutic care.
• Assist in developing and maintaining treatment plans that focus on sobriety and managing psychiatric issues.
• Participate in patient assessments and group interventions.
• Be willing to float to other units as necessary and take charge shifts when required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience, with at least 3 months in adult psychiatric nursing.
• Active Vermont or Compact nursing license.
• BLS certification from the American Health Association.
• Demonstrated experience with specific psychiatric patient populations must be noted in the resume.
• Recent completion of a psychiatric skills checklist within the last year.
• Two supervisory references from the last two years of employment.
