Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

The position requires night shifts on a 3x12.0 schedule.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals by collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information about changes in patient status to other care providers.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team building activities.
• Assume charge responsibility as needed after orientation.
• Actively pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
• ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
• Minimum of two years bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
