Job Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant/Med Tech is an essential member of the patient care team. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the CNA/MT is responsible for the direct and indirect patient care of residents, creating and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. Responsibilities include administering medications and assisting with the activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications via oral, topical, vaginal, rectal routes, and by inhalation.
• Chart all medications given, omitted, or refused.
• Assist residents with personal hygiene, mobility, and mealtimes.
• Create and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for residents.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of a Maine State Board-approved CNA course.
• Active on the Maine CNA registry.
• Graduate of a Maine State-approved Certified Medication Administration program.
• At least 1 year of previous CNA experience is required.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication abilities.
• Medical terminology knowledge is preferred but not required.
