Job Description

Under general supervision, the CT Technologist specializes in performing computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. The role may also involve performing general diagnostic radiology examinations and related duties.

Responsibilities

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations.
• Review clinical data and perform appropriate examinations, obtaining necessary patient medical history.
• Prepare procedure rooms and replenish stock of supplies.
• Analyze patient anatomical structure and perform CT scans using the appropriate equipment.
• Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patients for reactions, providing immediate care if needed.
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment for complex diagnostic procedures.
• Ensure adherence to radiation protection principles while performing imaging procedures.
• Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality delivery into PACS, including the completion of study indexing in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Demonstrate team member standards of excellence including AIDET, open communication, and fostering a positive attitude.
• Document all necessary information in medical records and within the radiology information system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• ARRT CT Certification.
• Previous general radiography experience.
• Ability to operate CT equipment.
• BLS certification.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and hold advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or be registry-eligible.
