X-Ray Technologist - Radiology

Schedule: Swing Shift, 11 AM - 7:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holiday requirements.

Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision while performing essential functions such as:

Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting proper technical factors based on individual needs.
• Restrict radiation beam exposure to unaffected parts of the patient using collimating devices.
• Perform portable X-ray examinations in various settings including patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
• Identify patient films correctly with names and X-ray numbers, and mark films according to the side of the patient taken.
• Develop exposed X-ray films through appropriate processing methods.
• Maintain orderly X-ray room conditions as directed by department leadership.
• Prepare and assist in administering radiopaque contrast media to patients.
• Handle administrative duties related to scheduling, patient instruction, film filing, and record maintenance.
• Provide assistance to patients based on their individual needs and abilities.
• Identify and address the needs of diverse patient populations, ensuring effective communication.
• Adhere to organizational competencies and safety standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist is required.
• Must possess a New Jersey State License.
• Completion of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology and A.R.R.T. requirements is mandatory.
• Certifications: ARRT, NJDEP, and AHA BLS Certification are required.
