Shifts are scheduled for 4 days at 10 hours each, with on-call requirements after department closing.

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs nuclear medicine procedures in compliance with hospital policies and procedures. The role includes operating state-of-the-art nuclear medicine gamma cameras, probes, and computer systems, along with film processors and survey meters.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nuclear medicine procedures as per established protocols.
• Ensure the safe handling and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Provide patient care during procedures, including drawing blood and starting IVs.
• Maintain and operate nuclear medicine equipment and ensure its readiness for use.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.
• Five years of nuclear medicine experience preferred.
• Pending Nuclear Medicine license with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) is acceptable.
• Must be registered in Nuclear Medicine with either NMTCB or ARRT within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification needed within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to operate advanced nuclear medicine technology and associated devices.
