Registered Nurse - Caregiver and Care Manager
Job Description
This is a 13-week contract position. The Registered Nurse (RN) will function as both a caregiver and care manager, taking responsibility for a group of patients while implementing the Nursing Process. The RN will direct and oversee the work of other caregivers through delegation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of patient care outcomes. Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment are required to navigate various situations effectively.
Responsibilities
- Perform assessment and data collection focused on physiological, psychosocial, and cognitive status.
- Implement care in a knowledgeable and consistent manner while adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Identify patient learning needs and implement teaching strategies as defined by care plans.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record or via paper processes as per regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate effective organization and priority setting skills while supervising assigned coworkers.
- Function as a Charge Nurse when required, coordinating staff coverage and assisting with problem-solving.
- Maintain professional growth and development through continuous education and training opportunities.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Washington State RN Licensure.
- Healthcare Provider Level of BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
- Experience as an acute care registered nurse preferred.
- Minimum one year of RN experience preferred for specialty nursing departments.
