Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide high acuity patient care in a Step-Down Unit (SDU). The role includes performing thorough assessments, executing competent clinical skills, maintaining accurate documentation, and promoting patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systematic and comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups.
• Deliver direct patient care and manage emergency equipment and procedures.
• Document nursing process components and patient progress accurately in charts.
• Demonstrate knowledge of policies, procedures, and areas for professional growth.
• Ensure patient and family-centered care while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals and Universal Protocol consistently.
• Individualize patient care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia types.
• Assume responsibility for prioritizing patient care based on their condition.
• Conduct pre-operative and post-operative assessments and education.
• Evaluate Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and completeness.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year ICU experience - Required
• Registered Nurse (RN) License - Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification - Required
