Schedule / Shift

Night and Day shifts available: 3x12-Hour rotating shifts (19:00 - 07:30 and 07:00 - 19:30). Shifts may be variable to meet the operational needs of the hospital.

Job Description

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse will provide specialized care to pediatric patients, focusing on those aged up to 25 years, including epilepsy monitoring and inotrope administration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage complex medical challenges in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill children in the PICU.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, EKGs, and ECG rhythms.
• Administer medications and inotropes as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using the established charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 18 months of permanent experience in pediatric nursing is required prior to travel assignments.
• Current and active Ohio nursing license or a compact license.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Red Cross is required.
• Experience with EKG rhythm recognition and administering inotropes.
• Must successfully complete the ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate assessments during orientation.
