Weekends: 6 PM - 6:30 AM; Weekdays: 11:30 AM - 12 AM (overnights). Rotating schedule; candidates must be flexible.

Job Description

Under general supervision, the CT Technologist specializes in performing computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients and may also perform general diagnostic radiology examinations, along with related duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examinations.
• Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations.
• Prepare procedure rooms and replenish stock such as linen and supplies.
• Analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform CT scans.
• Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information.
• Administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patients for reactions.
• Assist Radiologists with complex sterile diagnostic procedures like biopsies.
• Demonstrate principles of radiation protection and ALARA techniques.
• Resolve image exceptions and ensure quality image delivery in PACS.
• Complete study indexing in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Document within the medical record and RIS as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate's degree in Applied Science in Radiology.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ARRT (CT) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year working in a CT Technologist position in a hospital setting.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Peripheral IV insertion experience, or willingness to obtain training.
