Job Description

The Mixed Unit High Acuity Nurse will provide care in a fast-paced environment, handling patients with varying medical needs, especially those recovering from total joint replacements and other high acuity conditions. The role involves working in a mixed unit—combining Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit experiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients on a mixed unit as part of a Rapid Response team.
• Manage high-acuity patients with a 1:6 patient ratio.
• Conduct assessments and implement nursing interventions as required.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for responses and side effects.
• Ensure proper documentation through the Meditech charting system.
• Participate in clinical orientation and continuous professional development.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a high acuity environment.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS are required.
• A valid Florida nursing license or compact RN license in hand.
• Experience with cardiac drips (no titration) and dysrhythmias.
• Experience in telemetry is preferred.
