Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while adhering to the organization's focus on patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient.
• Provide patient information and status for Initial Team Conferences and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and ensure effective patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Facilitate communication regarding patient status changes among care providers.
• Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Participate in team building activities to foster a positive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested post-orientation.
• Actively pursue professional development through education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (for CIRH only).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
