Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. The role supports patient safety and employee safety as a priority, promoting superior care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments and interventions accurately and timely in accordance with policy.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program; prioritize education based on patient healthcare needs.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to team dynamics and create an efficient work environment.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and clinical training.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
• Previous experience with Select Medical is highly desired.
